Circumflex

Circumflex is a diacritical mark (^) used in various writing systems to indicate a long vowel sound or to indicate emphasis. It can be found in French, Portuguese, and some other languages. It is used over certain vowels to change their pronunciation or to distinguish homonyms. In French, it can also indicate the omission of a letter in a word.
